Frequently Asked Questions
Below is a list of frequently asked questions. Is your question not listed? Feel free to contact us or fill in the contact form on this page.
> I want to book 2 seats via the website, where 3 are available next to each other. This does not work, how is this possible?
This is to avoid leaving many single places in the room. If these are the last available seats, you can. However, if there are seats available separately and you would rather sit there (and then not next to each other), first book two seats next to each other and then call our Theater Service (the telephone number is on your tickets and / or your confirmation email. ). This way you avoid extra booking costs.
> I have booked seats 10 and 12 in the Great Hall. Are we sitting next to each other?
Yes, you are next to each other. Our main hall is divided into two halves. On the left the odd chair numbers and on the right the even chair numbers. For example, if you have booked seats 17 and 19, you are sitting next to each other.
> Do I have to print my cards?
No that is not necessary. You may also show your maps on a tablet or smartphone.
> What should I do if I have lost my cards?
Request your e-tickets again from the Theater Service (the telephone number is on your tickets and / or your confirmation email) or send an e-mail to in**@****************rg.nl . You can also have new tickets printed at the cash register at € 1.00 per ticket. Take into account the opening hours of our cash register.
> I cannot come to the performance. Can I cancel my tickets?
You can cancel the tickets up to 24 hours before the start of the performance. You will not receive a refund from us, but you will receive a voucher or you can choose a different performance. Booking and shipping costs are non-refundable. A cancellation fee of € 3 will be charged per card. Please notify us of your cancellation by telephone via the telephone number at the bottom of your confirmation email or via 0900 – 3000 200 (€ 0.45 cpm). Read more.
> Can I use my smartphone / tablet during the performance?
It is not allowed to use your mobile phone or tablet during the performance. Taking photos, gaming and WhatsApp is very annoying for fellow visitors and distracts from the performance.
> How do I reserve a wheelchair space?
In row 8 in the Main Hall, which can be approached completely barrier-free, there are a maximum of 6 wheelchair spaces. In the Kleine Zaal there are standard 2 wheelchair spaces in row 1. The wheelchair spaces can only be booked by telephone. These chairs can also be sold as a regular place over time. So for popular shows, we recommend that you also quickly reserve your wheelchair space.
> I am hard of hearing.
The Deventer Theater has an infrared sound reinforcement for the hearing impaired. People without a hearing aid can also use this system. These infrared hearing aids can be borrowed free of charge from the desk.
> What are the ‘high stools’ in the Kleine Zaal?
Raised chairs are located on the side balcony and the last row (row 11) in the Small Hall. These are chairs with a back and armrest, just as high as a bar stool. These chairs are not suitable for older and small people.
> I go to one of your performances with a child. Can I take that on my lap?
Of course you can take your child on your lap during the performance. Just keep in mind that your child must also have a valid admission ticket, in addition to the adult (s) in the room. Theater seats are designed for adult sizes. Therefore, use the free booster seats for your child. These are ready at the entrances to the hall before the start. We have sufficient booster seat in the house. Read more about visiting a youth performance.
> I have to pay booking costs.
For every booking we charge booking costs, both for online sales and at the checkout. Previously, this amount was included in the price, but this has been disconnected to be as transparent as possible.
> Which payment methods are valid at De Deventer Schouwburg?
In addition to cash and PIN, we also take the PODIUM Gift Card , the VVV receipts and our own Deventer Schouwburg credit or Gift voucher at the cash register . On our website you pay via iDEAL, the PODIUM Gift Card or our own credit or Gift Card.
> How do I pay on the website with a PODIUM Gift Card?
In the payments screen you will find two options. By clicking on the circle for PODIUM Gift Card, you will be given the opportunity to enter two numbers: the card number and the PIN. The card number is the long number on the back of the card starting with 6064 3635. The PIN is the code under the scratch layer on the back of the card. Then click on ‘add’.
The PODIUM Gift Card covers the total amount of your order, then the transaction is completed. Any remaining amount will remain on the card. > What does the map of the Main Hall look like?
In rows 1 to 4 the stage is at eye level, these are very suitable if you like to see the artists well. From row 4, the rows in the hall gradually rise and you get more overview of the entire stage. The technology is located in the middle of rows 6 and 7. In row 8 there are a maximum of 6 wheelchair spaces, which can be booked by telephone. Row 16 is the first row of the balcony. This is about the same distance from the stage as row 12.
Usually all seats in the Main Hall are first rank and good visibility and sound everywhere. If you are afraid of heights, we do not recommend the balcony. Row 15 (last row hall) and 17 (second row balcony) can be reached completely barrier-free, just like row 8. Feel free to contact us by phone if you want to be informed about which chair is best to choose.
> What does the floor plan of the Kleine Zaal look like?
The stage / stage is on the floor in front of row 1. The stand with your seat rises gradually. The rear row (row 11) and the side balcony seats (row 12) are raised seats. These are chairs with a back and armrest, but less suitable for smaller and older people. We have two wheelchair spaces in the Kleine Zaal. The wheelchair will be in front of row 1, on the far right or left of the room. These chairs can also be sold as a regular place over time. So for popular shows, we recommend booking your wheelchair space in time.
